Interlude: Beacon Loop Trail, Fall Edition

Interlude: Beacon Loop Trail, Fall Edition

As Europe continues to struggle with mass migrations, as the global economy continues to groan under the weight of more and more unpayable debt, as the U.S. continues its slide toward third world status, here in Beacon we await our local election results.

Will the “new” city council begin to seriously tackle some of our local issues? Will it immediately begin the much-needed overhaul of the Comprehensive Plan? Will it set aside a section in the Howland Library where all citizens can easily reference the various developments happening throughout the city? Will it finally implement a parking plan for the city in its entirety? Even if it did all these things, chances are the geniuses on the Zoning Board of Appeals would negate it all. Stayed tuned for more on that…

Meanwhile, the natural world carries on, treating us to its annual display of fall finery. Please enjoy a few photographs taken while meandering on the Beacon Loop Trail. Last month, we ran a few shots of the riverfront portion of the trail, including the long dock meadows, in late summer glory. Today we present the Fishkill Creek as it passes through Madame Brett Park and out to the Hudson River.
