Peoples Bicycle has been around in Beacon since 2009, first at a small space on South Chestnut, and more recently at an expansive warehouse location on Maple Street. After one and a half years of planning and engineering and structural repairs and build-out, this past Second Saturday marked the establishment’s arrival on Main Street proper, at 430 Main, right across from The Beacon theater. A sizable crowd turned out to celebrate the occasion and drink the free beer.
Earlier in the day an official opening was held, with Mayor Randy Casale doing the ribbon-cutting honors. Proprietors Jon Miles and Sarah Womer could take a moment to enjoy the transformed space and get ready for a new level of business for years to come. Good luck! Store hours are Monday through Friday 12-7, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 7pm. There is a rumor of first come first served homemade donuts on weekend mornings.

Breezers have a good reputation as excellent commuter bicycles, complete with fenders, racks, and chain guards.
You should have mentioned the absolutely gorgeous job of refurbishing that wreck of a site by Patrick Freeman and his assistants. As always, Patrick turned a dump into an incredible space that not only the owners but all of Beacon can be proud of.
I did mention it, a while back. But you had to be paying attention!
